BOARD METRORAIL AND EXPLORE YOUR FAVORITE MUSEUMS ON MUSEUM DISTRICT DAY

Museum District Day is this Saturday, August 18th and METRO is your best option for getting there.

The easiest and most affordable way to start your tour is on METRORail.  Park your vehicle at the Fannin South Park & Ride lot or at any other public parking lot along Main Street and buy a $2 METRORail Day Pass.  Next, board METRORail from any station along the line and exit at the Museum District Station or Wheeler Station. 

This is your chance to spend the day exploring your favorite museums and visiting new ones.  Fourteen museums will be open to the public.  Enjoy free general admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Free bus shuttles will run to the museums every 10 – 15 minutes.  Participating museums include:

  • Houston Center for Photography
  • Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science
  • Children’s Museum of Houston                       
  • John C. Freeman Weather Museum
  • Contemporary Arts Museum Houston

  • The Health Museum                                         
  • The Menil Collection
  • Holocaust Museum Houston                           
  • Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
