METRORail Scheduled Service Interruption

November 9, 2007

When:     Sunday, November 11, 2007
                6 – 11 a.m

Where:    Between Fannin South and Hermann Park/Rice U Station

Why:        Building implosion in the Texas Medical Center (TMC)

Fannin and Main between Dryden and Holcombe will be temporarily closed, and pedestrian activity will be prohibited due to a hotel implosion in the area.

During this time, trains will operate between the Hermann Park/Rice U and UH Downtown stations only. Service will continue to operate every 12 minutes.

There will be no rail service between Hermann Park/Rice U and Fannin South stations. METRO will operate dedicated “Rail Shuttle” buses every 12 minutes. Shuttle buses will stop at Fannin and Sunset, Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo (board on the east side of MacGregor at Fannin), the TMC Transit Center, Bus Bay “A”, Smith Lands, Reliant Park and Fannin South. Due to street closures, no shuttle service can be provided to Dryden Station. Riders will need to board the shuttle at Memorial Hermann Park/Houston Zoo or the TMC Transit Center stops.

A flyer with this information including a map of “Rail Shuttle” bus stop locations is available on all trains.

METRO personnel will be available to provide assistance. Normal rail operation should resume by 11 a.m.
