METRO SEEKS COMMUNITY’S HELP IN SELECTING ARTISTS, THEMES FOR ITS UNIVERSITY CORRIDOR LIGHT-RAIL STATIONS

METRO Solutions invites the public to help select the artists whose artwork will enrich the University Corridor light-rail stations.
Residents are encouraged to attend one or both of the following METRO-sponsored community workshops to discuss ideas for art that celebrates the community’s image, identity and architectural heritage:
Date: Thursday, January 29, 2009
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Location: Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall

The following stations will be discussed at the January 29 workshop: Hillcroft Transit Center, Gulfton, Bellaire, Newcastle, Weslayan, Cummins, Edloe, Kirby, Shepherd, Menil, Montrose and Wheeler
Date: Saturday, January 31, 2009
Time: 9 – 11 a.m.
Location: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral

The following stations will be discussed at the January 31 workshop: Almeda, Hutchins, TSU, Tierwester, Scott, UH and Eastwood Transit Center
